Register now for our Winter Skill Building Groups

When: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays: February 2nd, 2015 – April 27th, 2015

Where: Leaps and Bounds

Each group is led by an Occupational Therapist trained in teaching handwriting.

Beginner Handwriting (Ages 4-6 years)

Mondays: February 2nd – April 27th (4:00-5:00 pm)

This group is for children who are learning to recognize and write all the letters of the alphabet along with numbers 1-10. The group will teach your child efficient letter formations and will facilitate appropriate pencil grasp.

Advanced Print (Ages 5-7 years)

Mondays: February 2nd – April 27th (4:00-5:00 pm)

This group is for children who can form all of their letters and numbers. These children are working on writing words, adhering to the line, appropriate spacing, and the size of their letters.

Good Start Morning Group (Ages 6 years and older)

Tuesdays and Thursdays: February 3rd – March 12th (7:30-8:00 am)

This is an early morning group focusing on preparing your child’s sensory systems and body for a long day at school. This will involve strategies to use at home and at school.

Morning Routine Masters (Ages 6 years and older)

Tuesdays and Thursdays: February 3rd – March 12th (7:30-8:00 am)

This is an early morning group focused on assisting your child to manage his AM routine with greater independence. Activities will be built around mastering the skills of dressing, hygiene, breakfast, and managing time throughout the morning. Pajamas are welcome with the expectation that your child will leave with his daytime clothes.

Preschool Prep and Play (Ages 3-5 years)

Tuesdays and Thursdays: February 3rd – March 12th (9:00-10:30 am)

This is a 90 minute group that meets twice a week with both an occupational therapist and a speech and language pathologist present to assist your child with developing the skills that he needs for preschool. The group will address a variety of skills including, but not limited to: attention, fine motor skills, socials skills, and communication.

**An intake assessment will be required for children not already attending Leaps and Bounds to ensure all of the children will receive maximum benefit from their group.**
